Frederick Cooper was born in Danville, Virginia in 1961. A monster kid from the start, he began drawing monsters at the age of 3 and was inspired by many of the greats including Frank Frazetta, Basil Gogos, Bernie Wrightson and more. He became a professional artist at the age of 15 and had a successful career in illustration for over 4 decades. His clients included Universal Studios, Disney, and more.
In 2018 he decided to quit his advertising career and go back to his roots. Becoming independent, he has dedicated himself towards becoming a monster artist. His independent work has attracted him to illustrious names such as Horrorhound Magazine, Wicked Vision Media, and Wizards of the Coast, illustrating magazine & blu-ray covers and movie posters.
He was a big hit last year and we’re very happy to welcome Frederick back to Monsterama!
